Jay Billingsley, M.S. Student
I graduated with a B.S. in Biology from Campbell University and a PharmD degree from Wingate University School of Pharmacy. After working as a pharmacist for seven years, I decided to pursue a research career focused on vaccine development. I am now a graduate student in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at VCU and joined the Marconi lab in the Fall of 2023. My research efforts are focused on Lyme disease, the most common arthropod-borne disease in North America. Specifically, I am working to develop next-generation vaccines and point-of-care diagnostic tests for human Lyme disease.
